Puddle Jumpers Childcare became a registered family child care in November of 2006. Before then, my children, Miles (June 2002), and Emma (March 2005) were both in a family childcare setting in Shelburne (Delaney was born in May 2008). I decided to meld my love of children with my business background in order to allow me more time at home with my own children. Hence, Puddle Jumpers Childcare was born! My husband, Mark, and I moved to Shelburne when Miles was 6 months old in 2003. I have a Bachelor of Arts in both Psychology and Fine Arts from Trinity College of Vermont and have taken multiple Masters of Education level courses at Saint Michael’s College. I have taught art classes and summer camp at the Shelburne Art Center. I am Infant/Child CPR and First Aid Certified as well as take part in numerous childcare trainings and day long seminars annually. In June of 2011, I was awarded “Early Childhood Professional of the Year” by the Building Bright Futures Council of Chittenden County. In 2015 I was selected as a finalist in the Permanent Fund's Childcare Provider of the Year award, and in 2017 I received the Terri Lynne Lokoff National Child Care Teacher award. In 2017 I also received my Early Educators License with the State of Vermont. I am a five STARs provider in Vermont’s Step Ahead to Recognition System and am nationally accredited through the National Association for Family Child Care.
